Nintendo DS I Spy Castle Review

Remember when we were kids and the Where’s Waldo books first came out?  My sister, brother and I had a whole bunch of those book that we would spend hours searching through when we were younger.  So when I had my kids, I bought a whole bunch of I SPY for them.  I had hoped that they would love searching through those kind of books as much as I did when I was younger.  I’m happy to report that they do and when I was rececently given the chance to review I SPY Castle for Nintendo DS, I was psyched.

About the Game:
Explore a legendary castle to discover the secrets of the dragons! Play I Spy riddles and brain-teasing puzzles to unlock new rooms of the castle and uncover its intriguing history. Search for over 400 objects in 36 I Spy riddles, play mini-games and reveal the castle’s secrets.

Both of my boys love knights & swords, so I knew they were going to love this game!

Just like the books, the main objective of this game is to find “items” within the picture. However, once certain objects are found, they are saved in a “backpack” to be used later for solving riddles.  In order to win the game, players must solve all 36 riddles and believe me when I say that we aren’t even close.

My boys are four and seven and both tried out this game.  Although, this game does require reading, my four year old is way too skilled in DS games that he just fudges his way though and seems to do really well at it.   My seven year old did really well playing and has already solved several of the riddles.  Based on the reading level, I would say this game is appropriate for kids ages 7-12.

Visit  Scholastic to learn more about the game!  I Spy Castle is available on Amazon for just $16.00!

**I received a copy of this game at no charge in order to provide a fair and honest review.  All opinions expressed are strictly my own and were not influenced in any way.  No form of monetary compensation was exchanged**
